Short Time Hotels in Bangkok?

Guest

Recommended Posts

Have tried searching this board without success.

Can anyone tell me about short time hotels in Bangkok, ie; rates, cleanliness etc.

I have only used the crappy one opposite the beer garden in Soi 22, not impressed.

I went with a girl from the Philippines at a place called P.B.mansions or something like that at the back of summukvit somewhere.

Big kingsize circular bed with lots of mirrors. think i paid around 250TBT for 3 hrs or so.

I received an e-mail from a Finnish gentleman who asked me if I knew anything about the 99 hotel on Sukhumwit Rd – apparently it had been recommended to him by a friend.

I fully suspect that this friend was winding him up because almost any hotel in Bangkok which has simply a 2 or 3 digit number for its name will be a ‘short-time’ hotel.

At this kind of hotel, there will be no expensive cocktails around the swimming pool or savory nibbles in the piano bar – this is a hotel where rooms are rented by the hour or a slightly longer period of time in order to give a gentleman enough time to show a lady his etchings.

Short-time hotels are usually situated off the main road (although not for the sake of privacy methinks) and announce themselves to the world with a grubby notice-board that gives a good indication of what lies ahead. Speaking to a few friends who frequent this kind of establishment, I’m told they are both clinical and soul-destroying. You pay your room fee to a guy with a drooping fag and a personal hygiene problem who plucks a figure out of thin air (If you’ve been taken there by a tuk-tuk or taxi driver, then there’s his commission to be considered). You then receive 2 grubby white towels with the texture of sandpaper, two bars of soap the same size of those given away free with women’s magazines, and a knowing wink from old droopy fag that translates as ‘Give her one for me my son’. And your romantic interlude may commence.

Now call me old-fashioned but I always feel that love-making between two consenting adults should take place in a pastel-colored room with George Micheal in the background. Although I’m sure there are some of you out there who might be partial to the 24 hour in-house porno channel, or even the mirrored ceiling so you can look at yourself when you wake up. The better short-time establishments will indeed have these features, in addition, I’ve heard of one short-time hotel that has harnesses hanging from the ceiling into which you can strap your unwilling partner and together defy gravity – a sort of sex with a skydiver situation. Whatever tickles your fancy.

Short-time hotels have long been an Asian tradition – a place where a boss might take his new secretary to go over a report, or that fit bird from purchasing who is hours away from climbing up the promotion ladder. The feature of these hotels that always makes me chuckle are the small carports where the boss will park his Mercedes or Roller and then a shabby old curtain is pulled across to keep the registration plate away from prying eyes – usually those of his wife.

No doubt he was referring to the 99 Check-Inn Hotel on Sukhumvit (somewhere between sois 5 and 7) This little place has been there for donkey's years, as has their usher, the 'little person' on his little stool outside the front.

Inside is rather quaint. It's dimly lit with comfortable sofas (barstools also) a fountain/waterfall, soft live-music... and the girls aren't too shabby also. It kind of gives the feeling of like being in a mellow tropical oasis away from the madness of Sukumvit just outside.. Not bad for a quiet relaxing beer, some peanuts (free of charge!) and a quiet chit chat.

That place isn't actually a hotel per se is it? I've been in there a couple of times and I remember asking the guy sitting out front if they served shorts. LOL

I also am interested in finding the name/address of the place with the harness, it could make the next trip more interesting.

What have members experiences been with asking the girls to get involved in the harness type of high jinks?? ( I guess this should be a seperate thread, sorry) cool.gif" border="0
