Now let's see how this plays out and how good his lawyers and connections are. I'd recommend a denial and a hefty cash payment to the victim's family. Do it like the locals and it might not turn out so bad.
limbo
It was on BBC World news. He's an ex Foreign Legionair and gave himself up to the police. If convicted he can face the deathpenalty.
khunsanuk
Hi, "If convicted he can face the deathpenalty. " Seriously doubt that would happen. AFAIK HM the king tends to pardon foreigners who face the death penalty and their sentence gets converted to life in prison (not sure which is preferable though). Sanuk! elef
The court has decided his penalty according to a swedish newspaper ( Link in swedish ) He got 10 years and 8 months for manslaughter and as he confessed the crime he got a 50 % discount so just 5 years and 4 months. ----- Now he can wait for a visit of the swedish king - as normally some prisoners from that country are pardoned (just for kings and queens - presidents no good) - every year now or ask to spend the time in prison in a swedish prison according to the treaty between our 2 countries.
