sayjann Posted March 17, 2005 Report Share Posted March 17, 2005 a little off topic but i remember a case a few Years ago which i was marginally involved in. in my City we have a large community of Hindu's and one particular Young Girl was considered at risk. it was suspected she was the the subject of abuse (wether sexual or violent from her Male Family members). she was a frequent visitor to my Hospital with injuries which always came with an explanation from the MALE members who accompanied her. her Relatives would never allow her to be examined without any of them present. Social Services and Police were always called whenever she came in but there was nothing anyone could do. without evidence no-one could force her or her Relatives to do anything which might upset their religion. this might have been a case of 'the one that got away'. i have seen her grow up and she is certainly not a happy Girl these Days...
