iuytrede
A friend (not yet in Thailand) would like to rent a house(not an apartment),with three or four bedroom, near a swimming pool and near tennis courts(half an hour travel time). The pool should be at least 20 meters long. Some hotels allow nonresidents to use the hotel's pool and tennis courts for a fee, hence that's one possible solution. He doesn't care about the "quality" of the house as long as it's reasonably near a market. Information about prices of houses which satisfiy the conditions, in any city, would be useful as a starting point.
Nervous_Dog
Looking in Bangkok Post expect to pay 120 - 200 000 baht a month! Houses like that are expensive here, Otowa on the other hand you can have a pool (Doubles as ice rink) for 1/3 of that. DOG
gummigut
For 1/12th to 1/20th of what ND mentioned I rent a 2 bedroom. About 50 meters from a 28 meter long pool. Yesterday there were two girls, one in a bikini, taking sexy pictures. Extended my daily swimming to an hour, lol!!! Walking distance to a hypermarket. No tennis courts that I know of in the area. "In any city" is pretty wide which leads me to believe that your friend is fishing at the moment. Is there any cost range? Because if you are at the higher range (as what was indicated by ND) you could be in one of the moo baans that are littered throughout Bangkok which have swimming pool and tennis facilities. Walled off and guarded. Just reassure your friend what he wants is here. He needs to give additional information and choose what area he prefers. <<burp>>

Inner city still expect to pay for a HOUSE (Not a townhouse) about 30 000+ upwards, outer city can be less. Muang Tong Thani has some geat deals.
