Sukhumvit
Just curious. Anyone got any experience. Where d'you get them? Surin? Or Chatuchack? Thinking of a career change and ethical issues about exploiting wildlife aside wouldn't mind flogging bananas to tourists for a living.
Nervous_Dog
Got seriously drunk one night a few years back wth a fairly well off out of town visitor, fellow Aussie, and we bought one early on in the night, 150 000 baht, kept him and the mahout as we wondered around, then at the end of the night as we sobered up a little, and we realized what we had done, and were would we put it we sold him back to the mahout, (For a loss of course, not substantial thought) Dam good night! DOG - going price these days seems to be around the 300 000 baht for a small one.

Sukhumvit
Sounds like a good deal. So, that's the retail price. Wonder how much they are if you buy in bulk? (I've wanted to use that pink elephant gremlin for ages).

samak
Mighty Mouse has bought a Sixpack of Elephants in Chatuchak weekendmarket and trained them to become Police Dogs with which he could catch many criminals and handover to the Royal Thai Police, but he got banned from the Board for that as KS is member of Amnesty International (for the elephants) and WWF (for the criminals) and his wife looks too much Dicovery Channel!!!
