Guest
"C'est SOCIAL " Watched national news tonight on the french third channel, first time in a long while. Fucking brainwashing. Think I heard the world "social" about 20 times in as many minutes. Program started to ridicule Bush, using Chavez as a smarter figure, than had a couple of subjects on french right wing politicians making huge efforts to keep their project in the french scope of socialist leaning acceptable policies. They were still countered everytime by a one way labour union leader speech that was meant to be sharp and clever criticism, even more socialist leaning. Each topic was closed on the union speech. NEVER even whispered the word "productivity" in the whole program, from anyside's mouth... "Un programme social ..."... than a mate came over and we went to a nice italian restaurant in the 9th - tried to forget all the miseries of this world in prosciuto and wine but it's diet period and a glass of white and some fish was all I could indulge. Time to pop a xanax and fall asleep, dream I'm surfing Paris' streets on the blood of french labour... much sweeter social visions... please donate... Random, off. elef
Remember that still french still is the diplomatic language. Cambodia - even if my knowledge is based on a few days in february all people in PP over 30 spoke french and all under 25 english (and much better than thais speak english). Flashermac
Same in Laos and Vietnam. French is viewed as the former colonialist master's language. Few study French anymore -- and only the older generations speaks it (often very well though).
Flashermac
<< all countries in the world adopt a common language >> International sign language -- as used by the deaf and dumb! Not that hard to learn and quite effective. (Or the loony fringe could use American Plains Indian sign language ...)
Nervous_Dog
Flash - sad to say I have discovered as we are involved in education projects that international sign language differs widely across tthe world. Seems stupid but is true. DOG
Flashermac
I know. The version the Thais use is slightly different from that in the US. And the US version is slightly different from that on the European continent. You'd figure the countries could at least get their act together on that! ::
