Interesting. I wonder if they will continue to allow American green card holders in w/o visas, after they join Schengen.

Does joining Schengen leave any room for individual per-country visa policy, or must all member countries adopt the same exact rules/policies?

Right now Switzerland is a great place for an American to take his greencard-holding Thai wife on vacation -- one of the only places in Europe that she can enter visa free (maybe the only country in Europe, actually).

- anyway, i have votet NO. :o:footinmou

why?

and no, this is not the why thread!

Schengen brings more criminality into our Alps, Schengen brings more negative as positive aspects to us. And i'm not a friend of the bureaucratic European Union (EU), I'd prefer Switzerland goes to the ASEAN Group :) ::

It is not sure yet that Switzerland will join Schengen. The EU will wait for the ratification till the swiss people will have voted for the new bilateral treaties too.

...sure! it's poltical system fits perfectly to Thailand

Actually it would fit best to the USA - after some improvements of the american democracy of course.

Best regards
