Dude_Le_Rude
OK, all that talk about Dutch pancakes got me hungry. I like the little place in the Emporium Food Court for some Thai desserts, tapioca pudding, black sticky rice with coconut milk etc. and closer to the supermarket there, you can also buy little fried coconut pudding balls, also those sweet things that look like tacos. Sorry, I have no idea what the Thai names are. Does anyone else have a cheap place to get various cool Thai desserts?? Thanks!
samak
i do not like many of the much too sweet thai desserts. two i like is khao niaow mamuang and khanom mor gaeng. the real khanom mor gaeng you can buy in dozens of shops along the petkasem expressway in phetchburi province (inbound); shops are called mae kim lang, mae kim lui, mae kim lai. those shops are very busy on a sunday afternoon serving all returning bangkokians from a trip upcountry

khunsanuk
Hi, "two i like is khao niaow mamuang and khanom mor gaeng." The second doesn't sound familiar, but I too love sticky rice with mango. Sanuk!
samak
khanom mor gaeng: it is a custard/pudding made of eggs, gathee (coconut milk), sugar and beans i have even had it several times on TG flights; but this one does not come close to the original one! limbo
Agree with Samak, too sweet for my taste, although occasionally sticky rice with mango is fine.
Khun_Kong
If I'm anywhere near my bed, I find that a roll with honey usually hits the spot. Very sweet!
