rickfarang
I am in the U.S. now and came across this cyber police web page while looking for something that was blocked when I was in a particular S.E. Asian country that is having insurgency problems. The term "Cyber Police" stirs chilliing images from Orwell's 1984. I am very curious as to what the cyber police are keeping tabs on. Can anyone see/read it? http://cyber.police.go.th/webreport/report/sum.php
Straycat
I'm not a good enough Thai reader...but I can decipher that "web lamok", i.e. pornographic web sites, are among the top 3 categories that they've blocked out so far....

rickfarang
Thanks guys! I guess these numbers are a convolution of the cyber police's priority and the prevalence of these "threats" to the country's morality and security. I find that merchandising of bootleg material is on this list. That the vast bulk of blocked URLs are sex related is not surprising. SEX RELATED 76.38% NATIONAL SECURITY 11.60% INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY 9.46% GAMBLING 1.71% OTHER 0.85% Censorship fascinates and sometimes bothers me.
