Here is an interesting story that I am sure is repeated many times a day in Thailand and helps explain why there are so many girls in the "industry"

 

The plot consists of two main characters.

 

Aussie guy, mid fifties, just divorced, self employed and still relatively well off.

 

Thai woman late twenties two children from different fathers and one 6 month old luk kreung baby. Left school at 13, not particuarly attractive, limited English skills.

 

The girls is a friend of the girl i am currently staying with and we had dinner with the couple last night.

 

This guy met the girl in a bar in Jomtien a month ago.

They got married after two weeks and he has already sent her more than two hundred thousand baht and also is intending on buying her house in the next few weeks.

He has a business in Australia so can only come to Thailand on an irregular basis for short trips

He asked me how much he should send her a month. He thought a hundred thousand a month would be okay! I had to be careful what i said as we were all at the dinner table but told him that an uneducated Thai would be lucky to get 10,000 a month. He also asked me whether it was a good idea to buy the house in her name?

What can you say?

He said he was very happy and that he felt that his girl was the very loyal type! WTF

Now i don't know whether i mentioned that at the same table was a Thai guy who happens to always be in her apartment and doesn't really seem to work. Now the girls say he is a friend but who is going to believe that sh**t.

It seems it is almost the cliche Thai BG farang relationship.

This story would be remarkable if it was rare but this girl has two other friends who are also cashing in big time with relatively well off older guys who are buying them houses and sending big amounts of money.

Is there any wonder that this a booming industry and that the girls think that the big jackpot is only ever a customer away.

I think it is time for another 60 minutes segment. They seem to like these type of stories.It would be interesting if they would try to present both sides or skew one way or the other..

 

Actually, very similar to patterns that occur in america i.e. where the elderly are preyed upon by slick scam artists to lighten their bank accounts or foolish people who buy into those pyramid schemes or a host of other creative ways to separate one's money from their owner.

 

Would BGs classify as "scam artists" and the socially insecure falangs as "vulnerables"?

If I'm honest, I've seen this first hand, perhaps not the house thing but girls out for a big pay day.

 

Being single again, I take more interest in the girls around me than I did before when I was attached. Sometimes a potential liaison is thwarted as the girl knows she cannot pull the wool over my eyes. Of course, that is not the sort of girl I would like to be with anyway, but she cannot have been born like that, she must have been taught.

 

I know this Thai girl, about 30, with fake tits, nose, arse (even) who constantly brags about her house. I complemented her on how all those years on her back had brought her something but oh no, it was scammed off a farang !

And you know she will most likely lose it all to a thai guy, once she gets a little older and it will be her time to want to have some kind of "real" lover or man to make her feel still wanted.

Scam artists, not for long, and just hiding their good heart til' they meet the worst possible guy, or someone who will make them really feel like the shit they've always acted like. IMO, they have a pavlov dog's RS to money, a scam artist does have to TTM.... or enough at least.

 

Best movie i have ever seen about a girl who rolls over money, finds a good guy, but can't fight her demons and end up destroying her life, was CASINO, with De Niro and Sharon Stone. A bit over dramatic, but damned if it did not remind me of the schemiest TGs I have known (from the safety of a 6ft pole, needless say)

they are all mostly playing the numbers game, roll over the punters until they can find a greenhorn who will spill the cash.

obviously old hands are seen to be no good as they are too smart,

so dont be surprised if you get the boot by your beautifull girl when you didnt buy her the condo and new car.

Maybe we should pretend to be greenies new in town for a good ride !

You can never se sure if they have a Thai pimp lurking around somewhere out of sight !

As soon as I get off my ass i'm going to western union to send 4000 baht to a girl i stayed with for two days during my last visit.

Sure as shit that IS a great movie. I rate it better than Goodfellas. For me, the RT in this movie was more about De Niro being a loser, marrying a girl who was not into him at all, badgering her until she gave in after he showered her with mioney and gifts. Off course it would go wrong. Either way you look at it, it does have an interesting thing in common with BG/punter RTs. Never thought about it before though!

I read a lot lately about these girls being on top of the game, and I disagree, save a very few, at least in the farang scene. They're just mostly living day to day, it's a strong mental make-up from where they come from. Many thais do not see life as something you learn from to advance, even if it's advancing by greed, in the case of some of these girls.

 

That's why it's so important to have kids, so they can take care of you when you're old and unemployed. Every day repeats itself. that sort of life vacuum is kind of scary at times.

 

I have seen quite a few blow off a generous farang pretender, on a whim, and I bet Torrenova has seen that happen around his bar too.

 

Still, I think the majority of girls who find a way out, do it by marrying good with a farang, or living with him. Way too many guys here on NP are in that situation, and not being schemed upon the least, as they are not very rich.
