What you watch in Pattaya is either Chonburi Cable TV pr Pattaya Cab;e TV.

These used to be pirate cable TV but now they are semi legit.

Sophon Cable still around? ~300-350B/month

I loved it when your program would stop and the DVD-player menu would come up on the TV screen:

Stopped-Ejecting-Insert Disc-Close-Play

and then your program would resume. :)

While there used to be a lot of C-band content, most of it is now the local TV channels, though you can still get BBC off Panamsat 7/10.

I'm replacing my 10' C-band (done me good service, I watched the tanks rolling through Bangkok quite a few years ago even though local TV was blacked out).

I'm getting a replacement dual C- band/Ku band digital 7.5' dish, and can still reuse some of the parts. If you get a receiver with a card slot, you'll get everything you get on UBC plus some 'parental lock required' stuff with the card subscription. Still cheaper in the long run, but the initial outlay is quite a lot.

Two main companies here, psisat(Chinese manufacture) and dynasat(Korean manufacture), I feel the dynasat setup is more flexible. The dishes are all manufactured locally.
