I need to keep the account open with 500- 750 qid, but I don't plan on keeping it there more than another couple of months. I thought that I would wait and see if the exchange rate between the dollar and sterling worsened for Americans (then I would change it to dollars). Unfortunately, it went from 1.82 to 1.755, which is the rate that Bank Of America gave me last August to cash the check for 35,225. I, instead, deposited it to the Royal Bank of Scotland account. I just hate paying $5-7.50 in charges everytime I take 20,000 Baht out. I like to think of it in terms of; if I take 15 withdrawls from it, that pays for one trip to the Eden Club!
