When I bought it my DVD payer did not have progressive scan but when I changed the player to one with progressive scan the improvement in picture quality was very noticeable. The DVD payer is also HDMI enabled but the plasma is not. Not long after I bought it Panasonic replaced it with the Viera range of plasma's which were also not HDMI enabled. However they are now. Therefore I would recommend a 42" Panasonic Viera plasma with HDMI. What Hi-Fi Sound & Vision rate it as the best along with a certain model from Hitachi (but IMHO it doesn't look as good). The Viera range also has a very snazzy integral stand / equipment rack (optional). Don't know what it would cost in LOS but in Dubai it's about US$4,000.
