Guest
Singapore's zoo is tops. Great oes in southern California, too. Even Dusit Zoo is rather poorly done. Kuala Lumpur, too, not good.
jxxxl
I'll be a bit more blunt than I have on another board. Who ever made this decision is fucking retarded. The world media will get hold of this and it will be fodder for can-this-be-for-real new clippings. The people and government of Thailand will end up looking like idiots for some half arsed scheme that some government cronie dreamed up. The night safari is one of the PM's pet projects so I doubt he didn't know this was going to be proposed. This is just another hilarious and patetic example of Thailand's government. Agreed, but at least you were able to see the animals; well over half of them were not visible on our visit. And the pandas did not move a muscle in the 1/2 hour that we watched them... chuckwoww
Thai Safari Pulls Elephant Meat From Menu Sat Dec 3,10:38 AM ET BANGKOK, Thailand - Visitors to a night safari in northern Thailand won't get to taste exotic animal meats as previously planned because the wildlife dishes sparked a storm of criticism and have been taken off the zoo menu, the project's director said Monday. The Chiang Mai Night Safari Zoo announced last week an "Exotic Buffet" for VIP guests at its grand opening next year, which was to include tiger, lion, elephant and giraffe. But now only farm-raised alligator and ostrich will be served at the night safari, project director Plodprasop Suraswadi said in a statement. "Any animal that is on display (at the zoo) will not be on the menu because it will cause confusion and misunderstanding about the intentions of the Chiang Mai Night Safari," Plodprasop said. http://tinyurl.com/bn9se

Central Scrutinizer
ND, "Any animal that is on display (at the zoo) will not be on the menu because it will cause confusion and misunderstanding about the intentions of the Chiang Mai Night Safari," Plodprasop said. Notice the above. The serving of wild animals will not stop, just the serving of any animals that are on display. So if they have Zebras on display they will not serve this meat, but if say they do not have gazaelle or Impala on display they will maybe serve it in their restaurant. Might have to go just to see what IS on the menu? :: I do love gator tail fritters! Maybe they'll have croc fritters, beer battered of course with a cold beer Chang. Yummy!
