Torneyboy
See a lot of Quotes from *the Nation* on the board and not many from the Bangkok Post. I get the BKP in Sydney a few times a week if i want the Nation i have to place a special order...so just get the BKP. Is one better than the other? limbo
Personally I prefer The Nation. It's more critical of mr. T.
Mentors
Bangkok Post has a political muzzle. Former Bangkok Post chief editor resign under pressure from Thaksin, 3 years ago. Check the fight between Tycoon Sondhi and Thaksin. While The Nation writing nearly daily about that, Bangkok Post brings nothing or just a little. Or i remember after the Tsunami, while The Nation wrote about the catastrophe big articles, Bangkok Post showed "business as usual", three days after the catastrophe! Last Autumn, Grammy Group?s buy into Bangkok Post and bid to take over Matichon Group has sparked social uproar.
sayjann
from an outsiders POV i always preferred The Nation as my preferred choice of reading while in the Kingdom..........
Nervous_Dog
Nation for Poliical, but Post for everything else
Pom Michael
The Nation's Sunday comics are worthless. At least with the Post you get the full size and color. Too bad that Calvin is in The Nation!
whosyourdaddy
Neither paper is my fav. Currently I am a big ThaiDay / International Times herald fan. Since it is a SOnghi Paper It fixs with my polital views.. I think Your money and Database sections of the Post is Better than the nation. The Nation has better Global and National news. sayjann
one thing i noticed in both Papers was that trivial News was word for word in both. i was in Thailand when the Miss Universe Contest was on and i found that the same layout was in both Papers. same Pix and wording in exactly the same places. itsmedave
Sports and entertainment far better in the Post. They are the only ones to show movie listings with theatre showtimes. Also they have the daily Suduku puzzle to which I have become addicted. Nation far better on Thai news...particularily political. They both just tend to re-print AP reports for international news, and often the letters to the editor are printed in both papers. I tend to buy the Post and look on the Nation website daily for the political coverage.
