Lusty
When I empty the recycle bin,is it really empty?:: Watch Outlook express though as a mate of mine didn't realise that it keeps a copy of absolutely everything that you send through there with times, dates,EVERYTHING, for years! Not just net related stuff but what about any Email history, deleted photos etc via the various programmes? What other dark corners do copies of stuff hide?Thanx

enigma
My philosophy is: NO ONE ELSE USES MY COMPUTER. PERIOD. That's why whenever I stop using it, I press Ctrl+Alt+Del and select LOCK COMPUTER This renders all other discussion on this matter essentially moot. enigma
Yup, if you're truly paranoid that someone (like the government) really, REALLY wants to know everything you've been up to, you need a utility that wipes the swap file when Windows is shutdown. chuckwoww
Wiretapping and torture don't seem to bother some people....maybe this will... Feds Seek Google Records in Porn Probe Thu Jan 19, 10:38 AM ET SAN JOSE, Calif. - The Bush administration, seeking to revive an online pornography law struck down by the U.S. Supreme Court, has subpoenaed Google Inc. for details on what its users have been looking for through its popular search engine. Google has refused to comply with the subpoena, issued last year, for a broad range of material from its databases, including a request for 1 million random Web addresses and records of all Google searches from any one-week period, lawyers for the U.S. Justice Department said in papers filed Wednesday in federal court in San Jose. http://tinyurl.com/e344z

enigma
Yeah, I spotted that story, too. Nevermind that the Supremes struck that law down, BushCo will use child porn as a bogus excuse to snag everything they can. Because, after all, who will complain about stamping down child porn, right? It's a ruse and a lie. Those bastards can go fuck themselves.

"The data request is part of a broader government effort to track the effectiveness of a 1998 law, the Child Online Protection Act, or COPA, which penalizes Web site operators who allow children to view pornography, the filing said." The ruling is designed to protect children from pornography. I don't see how google or porn sites are supposed to do what parents should be doing. Anyway who knows what the Fed will use the information for.
