jack_schist
I had some at xmas time and thought to myself "is this the same beer Lao that i knew and loved?" there is a rumour getting round that when carlsberg bought their 50% share in Beer Lao they did some blind taste testing and it kept coming out on top, so they promptly knobbled it. Carlsberg have also bought heavily into Cambrew .The possible knobelling of beer Lao may be somehow intertwined in this scenario. BUT this is just pure conjecture on my part but both these aquisitions seem to have transpired in the second half of 2005 Carlsberg/ BeerLao Carlsberg/Cambrew
Neo
In the last year they started making variations which is something they never did before. There is now a light beer as well as a dark beer. Between adding recipes, new ownership, and a new thrust into capturing global markets it is plausable something has changed. That's just wrong though if they did. You just can't touch something that good.

Flashermac
What are you folks talking about? We can't get Beer Lao in Thailand. (Laotians complain about that, but their country doesn't let in any other brands of beer at all.)
