Goodthaigirl
Guys I need your help ! I'd like to buy a return ticket from a good+secure website. I'll pay by my credit card(a credit card issued in Thailand by a Foreign bank- VISA). I plan to have an annual holiday in March for a few weeks. My point of entry and exit would be Italy. So.... Which website do you guys reccomend ? First hand experience would be great, but all are welcome. Do you find a better rate on the internet or from a local Thai travel agancy ? Thanks in advance ! cavanami
I have been using BKK as my home base for the past ten years or so. I always buy my ticket from a travel agent, pay cash (Thai Baht). I compare the price to some internet sites (Thai Air, United, etc) and the agent is always cheaper. ...all my travel is a business expense, so I am not too concerned about the price as the customer pays. If you in/out of Italy, then I would check with the local agents. When I was living/working in Venezia, I used the local agents.
MooNoi
HI GTG. I usually find that the Singapore Airlines website is one of the best, and prices are generally very good: Singapore Airlines Or Malaysia Airlines is usually quite good, but their website is hopeless for booking on line. Ethiad also offeres some VERY good prices on line from Bangkok - Europe: Etihad Airways I also bought a ticket once of the following website, and had no problems: Bangkok Tickets Hope this helps! (You might also find some airlines haven't released fares for March next year, so keep searching as time goes by). March is low season, so usually quite a cheap time to travel. Good luck! jai-dee
Hi GTG, I doubt very much that you will find Thai based internet travel agents any cheaper. Likewise there is not much price difference among thai agents in general, they all seem to use the same wholesaler. Online agents are useful for checking prices and availability without making any commitment (and wasting a real person's time), or if you are booking flights that do not originate at your home base. If you are in Bangkok and want to fly from Bangkok to Italy then I wouldn't bother with internet agents. Just check with a couple of local agents (those around Khao San Road are very competitive) and compare their offerings with internet (google cheap flights bangkok). In fact I have yet to find a reliable Thai agent with online booking. A few years ago I consulted a few, today I checked their sites and none of them works. When I need tickets out of Thailand and I'm not there, I order them from Charlie at http://www.travelconnecxion.com/

..
Good luck here as well: http://www.traveller2000.com I work with K. Natthamon. She is very good, the prices quoted rock bottom and their office is centrally located on Soi Lang Suan. Cheers, SD

Goodthaigirl
Thanks everybody ! I'll check them all ! I was wondering about whether local Thai agencies or overseas agancies offer more competitive rates and better service (delivery service, etc). Some online agencies don't sell tickets origianted from Thailand if you are in Thailand. That sucks big time. Any other suggestions, guys ?
