However this morning when we woke, she complained about abdominal pain. It got worse and worse so I decided we better get this looked at. To cut a long story short, we were taken to Praram 9 hospital and shortly after she was diagnosed with acute appendicitis. Stickman Posted December 24, 2006 Report Share Posted December 24, 2006 A friend had fairly complicated back surgery (or to me at least is sounded complicated) about a year and a half ago and everything went to plan and he made a good recovery. I visited him once and it seemed pleasant enough. At the end of the day one's satisfaction at a hospital is more representative of the care they get from the doctor(s) they deal with. waerth Posted December 24, 2006 Report Share Posted December 24, 2006 Medical care in the bigger BKK hospitals and the bigger hospitals in the rest of Thailand is usually good. Nothing to really worry about. Even the smaller places in the burbs or in Huay Kwang were I live are ok. You just need to know Thai though. arkutha Posted December 25, 2006 Author Report Share Posted December 25, 2006 My TGF ended up having an ruptured appendix and is required to stay upto 7 days to ensure no infection etc. IMO the hospital has been very professional in all areas of service. Cost of surgery & stay in hostital including private room about 50-60k baht. quite reasonable IMO considering the cost in western hospitals.
