Fidel Posted January 16, 2007 Report Share Posted January 16, 2007 Fox Guest Says Iranians are "Looking Forward" to the U.S. Taking Military Action Against Their Country News Hounds Tuesday, January 16, 2007 The third segment today (January 15, 2007) on Your World w/Neil Cavuto, Fox's "business news" program, was about the "hate America tour" Cavuto claimed that Iran's Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and Venezuela's Hugo Chavez have launched. Cavuto's guest was Ghazal Omid, an opponent of the Iranian government and the author of Living In Hell: A True Odyssey of a Woman's Struggle in Islamic Iran Against Personal and Political Forces. For the duration of the segment, the chyron at the bottom of the screen read: "Iran and Chavez to Spend Billions to Spread Hate Against U.S." While Hugo Chavez was included in Cavuto's teaser and in his intro, his discussion with Omid centered on Ahmadinejad and the influence Iran allegedly has on what's happening on the ground in Iraq. Toward the end of the segment, Omid said that recently she has, "been talking to people in Iran, on the street, and asking them what would happen if the U.S. strike Iran and they said, you, you know, we are looking forward to it..." Cavuto interrupted: "What do you mean when they said they're looking forward to it? That they would retaliate themselves?" Omid: "No. What people said, we're so fed up with this government that we know the opposition's merely a joke outside the country. They said we are happy to have the U.S. soldiers on our ground." Comment: The supposed need to invade Iran is a theme that Cavuto is weaving through his show with more frequency of late but this is the first time one of his guests has insisted - as did some of those pushing for the Iraq invasion - that the citizens of Iran would welcome it. The wind blowing out of Fox News is becoming more and more ominous folks. Oh, and by the way Neil, what makes you any better than Ahmadinejad and Chavez? OCgringo Posted January 16, 2007 Report Share Posted January 16, 2007 The USA / GW Bush will hit Iran before he leaves office in 2 years, Irans leader knows how to push the Wests buttons , and will push too far one time , The USA/ GW Bush will see this as an opening to hit a terrorist target , probably not a big target, maybe a staging ground just across the border of Irag or Afganistan , just to show that we can and will do it if it continues..... and of course all of Europe will hate us except the Brits . Guest Posted January 16, 2007 Report Share Posted January 16, 2007 Maybe he's FINALLY realised the freakin huge error of judgement he's made and how his name is going to be associated with this debacle forever...maybe, just maybe, he wants to get out before the shit really hits the fan...which it will...eventually...it can get a lot worse...and maybe he's making a tactical withdrawal so to at least retain some dignity/pride before things get really fucking bad.. It would have to look like the Iranians started it. The American public wouldn't buy it otherwise. I can think of a few scenarios but that's just my nasty suspicious mind.
