sayjann
there is America and then there is America. i have spent 2 Days in NY and loved the place as it was easy to visit the main sights. a Week in LA which was a complete guided tour. saw the sights which would have been impossible if i was on my own as it is such a huge area,a Month in South Dakota and 2 Weeks in Florida. like Phil i like the open spaces and will be returning to SD next Month for another Month. i like the area of SD,ND,Iowa,Nebraska,Wyoming etc. laid back and you meet very different people then in the Cities. not as much to do,but still enough sights to keep you occupied. i loved the Badlands,Black Hills, the driving through Wyoming, the driving through the Florida Keys to Key West. but i also liked the vibrance of NYC and the sights. BTW Flash. those things you mentioned about the UK,i have no experience of any of it. but then i am a law abiding citizen.......most of the time. but i do feel a little worried about my future trip. all the checks i read about for people like me entering the US don't exactly fill me with confidence. supposedly the US can check all sorts of things through C/C's and E-Mail's etc. they can make any excuse to deny me entry to the Country. sayjann
'I alwatys wanted to see a soccer game...maybe Liver pool or Man U...but after seeing all the hooliganism, I think I'll pass' you certainly are living in the past my friend. rarely is there trouble in the UK these Days. i travelled extensively throughout Europe and the UK when i followed my Team to Games and never saw any major trouble. you will always get a few drunken lads having a go at each other but nothing like the 70's. compare the UK to what has just happened in Italy. a Policeman killed by an explosive device and all Games cancelled this Weekend. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/6327655.stm nothing like this has happened in the UK for many Years. but following England abroad is a different matter, idiots go just for a punch-up.
