AF16
The neocons have said it out loud all the time, don't know why it's even a topic. US hegemony and ecconomical security depends on a flow of oil and the US have the obligation to do whatever it takes to protect their interests. Democracy and all that shit was a tool to achieve what they wanted, but it can be discarded at a blink of an eye if it's deemed necessary in order to secure US interests. Julian2
I suppose they consider it doesn't matter who gets it as long as it keeps flowing and is available on the open market. I think the big fear was the threat of it being held back, causing shortages. It's obvious that the Saudis et al can do what ever they like in their own backyard as long as the oil keeps flowing. elef
The war was about control over oil, not buying it. GWB and his government wants a higher oil price and the market is doing what he wants, the chinese are the big buyers. Those lucky who own the oil fields get richer all the time and guess who they're - family and friends of a certain retard but not that stupid politician. AF16
every country protects its interests, that why we vote! Yes, every country has police to, so no difference between a Norwegian jail and the torture chambers in some ME prisons. Same same .... Try harder. trooper
This shouldn't even be in the news. It was clear from the start. What I find disturbing is that so many people actually believed that nuclear weapons was the real reason to kill masses of civilians and to bomb entire country back to the stone age.
