MooNoi
The AC adaptor and/or power cable for my laptop is screwed. There's a loose wire in there or something similar and the power supply is intermittent. It's flicking between battery and mains power every few seconds and annoying the crap out of me. Anyone know how much a new adaptor costs? Do I have to get one from the laptop manufacturer, or can you get generic brand ones much cheaper at Panthip? Any info appreciated. Thanks. Palatkik
Try Pantip, they have a large selection of original equipment manufacturers chargers there as with many other IT malls. The laptop manufacturers repair centers will take a little longer and cost a bit more. Expect to part with best part of 100USD but depends on model. Denarius
They should have universal ones in Pantip. They cost around $10. One that I bought never really fit properly to the connector on the laptop. The Pantip people should know which ones will fit your computer model. Pom Michael
Fortune Town Mall also - many shops to choose from - one will have the right adapter. Also (at least for me) much easier to get to than Pantip Plaza.
Julian2
If you buy one not especially made for your model laptop make sure the output specs are as close to the original as possible. If it's too low don't assume (like I did) it will just take a little longer to charge the battery, the charger will burn out fairly quickly. (Do they sell pirate porn there too? :smirk: ) Which subway station? Rama IX isn't it? And how easy to find from the station? Thanks in advance, mate!

Pom Michael
Mekong, that link was for Fortune Tower, not the same as Fortune Town Mall. But correct that it is at the exit of Rama 9 station. Huge True store there, also a Tesco Lotus and lots of fast food places along with a coupon court and tons of hardware/software shops. Easy to park (it does however take a while to drive up all the floors to find a spot). Don't think you'll find the XXX DVD's - at least not out in the open. Cheers! Mekong
Here was me thinking that Fortune mall was located in Fortune tower across from Rama IX Metro Station. OK I won't offer directions anymore, obviously my landmarks are not specific enough Back to the OP what Model of Laptop, the wifes Cousin deals wholesale in Fortune, Panthip and MBK, I'm sure for a 500 finders fee would secure an OEM PSU for 1,000 Baht. cavanami
I bought an exact replacement my Dell PC a few years back at Pan Tip. No longer have the Dell but I do see many p/s for a variety of PCs at Pan Tip.
