was_usvirgin
OH, sorry to hear about that. I have gotten out of the habit of drinking a driving, even though my local is about a mile from my residence. But I did it LAST NIGHT, and although I was not completely shitfaced, I had to pay close attention in order to drive. I was not proud of it this morning. So the video was a wake up call. I even went so far as to hijack the taxi my buddy ordered while he was in the bar arguing with his girlfriend, rather than succumb to the temptation to drive. She offered to take me home while waiting for the fighting couple. Hope she returned in time to get him so that he will not be too pissed off. I use taxis almost anytime I've had a few drinks (this is California) and I guess the local drivers know me by now. A couple of months ago, we hailed a driver off the street after leaving a Who concert. My pal told the driver, "Take us to xxx bar, if you know where that is." The driver replied, in an Indian accent, "Yes, I know xxx bar and you are xxx and he is usvirgin." Regulars.
Gadfly
Yes, YouTube is still blocked. This is the message you get: Sorry, the web site you are accessing has been closed by Royal Thai Police due to inappropriateness such as pornography, gambling or contain any information which is deemed to violate national security. So no video in Thailand on the horrible consequences of drunk driving.
buddha
I would remove this thread if I were moderating. Not due to content but because of the implications involved in viewing youtube from thailand. You would have to use a proxy which is deemed 'illegal' in thailand. It may even be illegal to view youtube and/or post links to said websites. Imagine if thai360 were blocked from inside thailand?
Gadfly
Well it should be clear from my post that I don't know how to use a proxy server and therefore could not access anything on youtubes. I can't imagine that a mere reference to a video about drunk driving on youtube and the fact that some members (who may or may not have been in Thailand) apparantly saw this video would be grounds for closing access to this site in Thailand. Barry
How do we know the drive was drunk, apart from the fact that he ran into an accident scene that was lit up? Is it just an assumption, or is there some known history behind the vid?
Old Hippie
The guy is falling down, and apears drunk...There also might have been some reference to such in the video...
was_usvirgin
Trust me, that guy was drunk. How do I know? Well, maybe it's one of those cases of "it takes one to know one." And I don't think they'd have attacked him like they did otherwise.
