Used2btrfly
Not all PVC windows are created equally! I spent almost 4 years working in Thailand for my company who is the worlds largest single producer of windows and doors. We made the absolute best PVC product in Thailand that had glass options including insulated glass (double pane) utilizing the best spacer system available (Superspacer). Unfortunately the Thai market was very shortsighted and only looked at the initial outlay and now is stuck with seeping, discoloring and deteriorating windows from manufacturers such as Windsor who used inferior PVC formulations to cut costs. We have long since exited the Thai market and unfortunately the market lost reasonable access to one of the best PVC window and door products available in the market then and today. Be sure to understand the minimum PVC used should be U-PVC with a high amount of UV inhibitor in it. The insulating glass unit should carry a long warranty even if it is pro-rated after 5 years or so. Insulated glass is the single biggest liability of a window manufacturer...check the warranty on that particular component. Our former Thai partner is producing windows in Bangna Bangkok dba as American Builder or something similar. He knows windows. Good luck and spend the extra....insulated glass, especially units with LOW-E glass IS a good investment in the Thai environment. It will pay you back more promptly then other building "upgrades". Duro looks like they use Thyssen extrusions. Although expensive, Thyssen has quality U-PVC extrusions. Good Luck! U2B
bust
All good points but I would never use PVC. I would use aluminium over PVC or timber any day.
