Faustian
I've never really 'got' the whole Elvis thing...he ate a lot of burgers, shagged a lot of women, a few seemingly very young (strange how if you're famous people overlook that)....drank a lot, did a lot of drugs, got fat and knocked out a few rather dull tunes...so? Fiery Jack
I've never really 'got' the whole Elvis thing...he ate a lot of burgers, shagged a lot of women, a few seemingly very young (strange how if you're famous people overlook that)....drank a lot, did a lot of drugs, got fat and knocked out a few rather dull tunes...so? Oh, he was more than that, mate. He was a one-off. In his younger days, he was magnificent. Even in the Burger Elvis decades, he was an enigma, and a spellbinding performer right to the end. There'll never be an icon in music like that again. jack

Flashermac
I liked lot of his music, but I was never a big fan. However, a former colleague saw him perform in Las Vegas and became a life long fan. He said you had to see Elvis in person to realise how fantastic he really was. Seems he could really play to the crowd.

Nervous_Dog
I saw on YouTube before it was banned here, a clip of him singing drunk and forgetting the lyrics to a song. Even though drunk, the way he saved the show, and make the audience laugh with him, showed him to be a dam good performer
