Since I stay in Tennouji, only know that area, and even that only a bit. There is a one place called Tin's Hall. Had some luck there. Decent cheap bar with friendly staff at any rate, even if has more than its share of English teacher types (but they're OK). I will try to check it out when I am over there. My trip got pushed out till end of the month but appreciate the offer to meet up for a drink.
