Torneyboy
Just watching one of my wife's Dvd's we get weekly from Bkk "what is it" and they were talking about a Disneyland of 2000 acres being built up near the floating markets...work to start in a couple of months . Any of you guys know of this project?
MooNoi
Thailand already has Disneyland for me - it's called Pattaya! (And the rides are GREAT!)
..
This rumour seems to pop up nearly as often as the demise of . Doubtful at best IMHO. Thailand just does not hit the target market of Disneyland -- not a big enough middle class to make it viable. Hong Kong Disney is close enough to service the area's middle class. And nothing on any web search, even Lexis-Nexis (which pretty much has everything). Cheers, SD
Bangkoktraveler
I got a feeling Disney Land is scouting out several sites. If they can get the financing then maybe it will be a GO. Even here in Arizona (between Phoenix and Tucson) they are looking at putting up a huge entertainment park, but doesn't mean it will happen. ALHOLK
Yoy are wrong. No Disney land or indeed any other fun park holds a prayer to Pattaya.
Fidel
There have been rumours that this is gonna be built west of Hua Hin. People in Hua Hin have been talking about this for years and reports have appeared in various papers. Here's a link to a thread about this topic on a local site. And you can find a story about Cha-Am being ditched as a potential site here , but the article quotes a Thai developer as saying he is still in contact with Disney.
