Hotels Near Soi Cowboy

Stayed at Jasmine many times including October this year and never been charged, never been asked for id. They once slipped an ambiguous notes under in all suites regarding guests but that has never materialized with any charges or anything.I have had many friends booked in there and we have never been charged or had it mentioned. I'm not sure where the rumour came from but it might relate back to the note from a year or so ago. Jasmine is a nice place but there rates keep going up and they have now priced me out of their market.

It's been like that for quite a long time now. :)

One other thing to mention about it - the lock on the front door has long been broken and there's no sign of them hurrying to fix it. Can be especially bad if you've got a stalker who comes knocking at your door at 5.30AM when you're with another girl. And keeps knocking (and whining like a puppy) for 30 minutes when you don't open up. :(

I looked around a new hotel on the small Soi 18/1 a few weeks ago. Not bad for 1500B - free wifi in rooms. Can't remember its name. Queen something Inn but it's hard to miss because it's such a small soi.

The new Millenium Hotel on Asoke is very near to Soi Cowboy. It's plush but, being new, there are special discounted rates now.

For the ultimate in short walks, you could try Penny Black - just next to Rawhide. :)

Hehe - that's why I was trying to guide them away from SG too! (Although what I said was true).

It's quite a walk to Soi Cowboy too if you're really lazy whereas Penny Black is no walk at all. :stirthepo

The big new plush hotel is Grand Millenium and it does have a site. http://www.millenniumhotels.com/th/grandmillenniumsukhumvitbangkok/index.html

The other one I mentioned is the Queen Lotus Guesthouse. Soi 20/1, just across the road from SC. http://www.queenlotusguesthouse.com/index.php

Or how about the Drop Inn, Soi 20? http://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Review-g293916-d603128-Reviews-Drop_Inn-Bangkok.html

Or Baan Sukhumvit, Soi 20? http://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Review-g293916-d662825-Reviews-Baan_Sukhumvit_Inn-Bangkok.html

Or Citadines, Soi 16?

The Key, Soi 19?

S15, between Sukhumvit 15 and 17?

The Internet's also pretty dodgy at Grottino. The wifi doesn't work and even on cable, it can be down for ages. They must use a dodgy provider because at those times, I can sometimes pick up another unsecured signal from somewhere else and use it (albeit very slowly :( )

It's also getting a bit too popular with non-mongers for my liking. I know couples and families need a place to stay but can't they choose a non-girl-friendly place and leave the gf places to us? :(
