Flashermac
MINNEAPOLIS - Two officers who raided an innocent family's house on a bad tip were shot at and returned fire, but no one was injured, a police spokesman said. Vang Khang said Monday that he grabbed his hunting shotgun to protect himself, his wife and his six children when they heard someone burst through the back door early Sunday. He fired three shots, hitting two members of the SWAT team, but they were unhurt because of their bulletproof vests and helmets. Officers returned fire, but nobody in the house was injured. Police released Khang after taking his statement. All six of the children, ages 3 to 15, were home at the time. Lt. Amelia Huffman said the officers went to the house listed on the search warrant, but it turned out the source was wrong. Are cops getting thicker these days? Old Hippie
Shows what punks these guys are...they are really good at shooting unarmed people, and bullying people, but when they meet resistance, they have to rethink the whole thing. 22 bullet holes, and only the cops got hit. Just glad none of the family was hurt. The cops either I guess, but these guys need to get their heads right. Wonder if this was another armed Lao family? or Hmong? YimSiam
Sounds like open season up there, Hmong getting shot left and right, arming themselves like back in the day, and shooting back! And I thought Minnesota was a nice peaceful place... Hope this fad for shoot 'em ups doesn't spread - there's now a sizable Somali community up there too, that'd be quite a little war... Bangkoktraveler
Interesting article. Search warrant was initiated by breaing down the door. No indications they ever identified themselves. Since the 60's the police have become very militant even now to the point of breaking and entering to serve a search warrant. One article said 7 police officers were involved.
