Flashermac
When I was a kid, we studied English history in school. After all, it was our history too before we crossed the pond. Nowadays US schools are teaching not much of anything before 1900. Sort of like nothing important happened before the 20th century. p.s. I've written several books on 19th century American history. I very seldom read novels. I just can't see spending the kind of money they ask for books to read about something made up.
BusyBee123
I've never seen a history book since primary school i think! I can't say I have much of an interest either, is that such a bad thing? You live you die and enjoy the bit in between, most of the history i learnt involved much the same as what is going on these days anyway.
Flashermac
I'm trying to remember who said it: "History doesn't repeat itself. People just makes the same mistakes." One of my history teachers had that on the wall.
