Julian2
It makes you wonder at the motives of the magazine editorial team. They would be fully aware that the cover would be controversial. In the great wide world of capitalism though there is no such thing as sentiment when it comes to making a buck. I note that their readership has dropped 20% in the last decade. Bangkoktraveler
Tacky cover. Sad to think nobody could come up with something better.

TheCorinthian
I see it like that blasted Absolut vodka add. They either knew it would blow up or they are too stupid to breath.
Flashermac
I can see a young artist coming up with the idea for the cover. But older and wiser heads should have known better. What's next - maybe some Pearl Harbor photos to promote Japan Airlines???
..
Yea, stuff like that tends to piss us off. Then why are you NOT pissed off at Lynne Cheney? How is this cover any different? It is worse to me, using the Marines to spread dodgy propaganda to children. At least the Time cover is speaking to a serious issue -- believe in whatever is causing it you want, but the environment is changing and we need to do something about it. That's something I'd think the Marines would be proud to help with. Regards, SD
