Minuman
Some great matches today... Sweden did what the Swedes do the best and Finland performed an unlikely, yet all the same very impressive, Sweden-impersonation and overcame the surprisingly lame Czech team. The real matches start tomorrow, good luck to the Swiss, it's a match you must win in order to stand a realistic chance of a top-8 finish... Latvia has been impressive so far. TroyinEwa/Perv
the best and fastest team sport on earth thanks you I know what you mean but some people consider cars that go fast around some turns a sport (I don't) and they all have teams. I don't think a hocky player can skate 350kph.

Swiss team made a great game against Russia, so i hope for another effort today. In the past, games against Latvia were often narrow.

Mentors
The road ahead Qualification Round begins on Thursday Qualification Round The second stage opens with notable games like Russia vs. Sweden and Canada vs. the Czech Republic on Thursday. First-day action also sees Belarus-Norway and Switzerland-Latvia in crucial games for a quarterfinal berth. Relegation Round The relegation round consists of Austria, Denmark, Germany and Hungary, which will play a round-robin (three games per team). The bottom two teams will be relegated, except if Germany places 15th (in which case 14th and 16th place will be relegated) or if Germany places 16th (in which case 14th and 15th place will be relegated). This is because Germany is the host nation for the 2010 IIHF World Championship.
