Old Hippie Posted October 21, 2001 Report Posted October 21, 2001 Anyone have an idea of web sights where I can download Classical Thai and Lao music? I'm to cheap to pay for it...
thai3 Posted October 22, 2001 Report Posted October 22, 2001 As Thai music CD's are 100-190 baht, you must be a real scrooge if not willing to spend so little in support of such great singers and musicians. I suggest listening to the samples on www.thainetcity.com deciding what you like, then buying some CD's when you are there in November. Another site introducing thai music, with clips is www.thaiworldview.com/music/music.htm A trip to buy Thai CD's is so much more fun than downloading MP3's-peter quote: Originally posted by Old hippie: Anyone have an idea of web sights where I can download Classical Thai and Lao music? Old Hippie Posted October 22, 2001 Author Report Posted October 22, 2001 I picked a few up while in BKK a couple of weeks back, but I forgot them, and won't be able to pick them up till January or so. Still, I am that cheap I agree, a trip to LOS to buy cd's is far better than downloading them, but till I can get there... Thanks for the tips, I'll give them a try!
Guest Posted October 22, 2001 Report Posted October 22, 2001 Hey PeterG, that Thainetcity.com is a pretty cool site. Thanks for the tip.

Flashermac Posted November 18, 2011 Report Posted November 18, 2011 Reminds me of the days when Thais still knew how to dance (at least those under 60).
The_Munchmaster Posted November 18, 2011 Report Posted November 18, 2011 Nice video although shame about those pesky subtitles blocking the view!
Flashermac Posted November 19, 2011 Report Posted November 19, 2011 They are Lao script. I can understand more if I don't try to read them and just listen to the words. Nice little Asian bear in there amongst all the white creatures.
gobbledonk Posted November 22, 2011 Report Posted November 22, 2011 OH ! Holy shit - I haven't seen one of your posts in at least 6 months, and you pop up here ? Weird - its almost like you've been hiding from me ...... Anyway, I hope the coming Winter in SFO isnt too harsh on your aging carcass. Brrrrrr.
