So it would have been too easy for anyone seeing two black hats, a bit more difficult for anyone seeing one white and one black, and much more difficult for the person seeing two white hats. Only the all white hat option is fair. I was bothered by the fact that for my answer to work you had to assume the other guys were smart enough to figure out the easier two possibilities: they see black-black, or black-white. But not smart enough to figure out white-white and beat you to the conclusion everyone was wearing white.
