They just kept adding the asphalt on top without scraping away the old layer, until the roads became high and rounded in the middle (and deep along the sides to keep the drains open). It was an effort trying to drive and not damage the underside of the car. It was common in DR to see 3 -4 persons riding along on one moped; drivers creating a third lane when passing on a two lane road; rats the size of dogs; and police flagging down tourists in cars for money, etc. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
