drogon
AFP - Belga: China has prohibited the importation of Belgian chocolate. It follows China's decision to stop importations of some food products from Spain, Italy and Holland. -> analysts believe it is in reaction against the interdiction of some Chinese products by the EU as well as the visit of the Dalai lama in Belgium and France. Maybe EU should stop importing all Chinese products? (I am not serious of course)

drogon
Yes they should but they would never do it from fear of the consequences....
pe7e
Individuals can do this for themselves, just stop buying cheap Chinese imported goods, but since that hurts their pockets, it's not going to happen anytime soon.
rogueyam
Unsurprisingly, people here are deliberately ignoring the fascistic nature of the Chinese regime and of this action of theirs in particular.

Steve
The Chinese may emerge out of this economic crisis as the de facto #1 supreme power in the world if it isn't already. They have left Asia and now have significant stakes in almost every contitent. They own large amount of oil reserves by fiat in Africa. They now have a presence in the middle east. Europe already acquiesces to them to a large extent. The Olympics showed that. They are increasing a presence in south america. They already have U.S. by the economic short hairs. Where's that mandarin language CD ROM I bought a while back? Gotta dust it off. Its gonna come in handy soon.
