gobbledonk Posted January 1, 2009 Report Share Posted January 1, 2009 First hand account from Mikes Bar Guide: Santika Fire FWIW, we had a string of nightclub fires in Oz in the 70s and 80s, and it took a Royal Commission in Queensland to prove that nightclub owners were paying corrupt cops to look the other way or just fine them and get on with business as usual. Nightclubs, cinemas and restaurants have subsequently been closed down - cant even begin to estimate what percentage would be left in BKK if they were genuine about fire safety.
