If a black minority can be the most powerful person in the world, then what of their country (unspoken) cast system? was the general feeling. Have any of you detected this? And also for Abhisit too, linking the "young, smart, charismatic, hopeful" traits of the two. One of them started calling Abhisit "ObaMark" LOL! (Mark is Abhisit's English name.) The military has long been the road to riches for the country folks. The Chinese dominate business, and the old aristocracy and urban elite form much of the civil service. The military was thus the country boy's best option. I haven't heard many comments about Obama, simply fascination at his beating the odds.
