cavanami
I looked for a self-learning type book to learn the Thai written language but didn't see anything good. Maybe doesn't exist?

Dexi
I started to learn written Thai using one of those picture books for 3 yr olds...the gor gai,kor kwai etc....available in all book shops....I did feel a bit of a tw*t carrying it about though-some of the BGs must have thought I was a " farang panyar orn "
cavanami
I did the same to learn Chinese...bo, po, mo...
samak
you learned hanzi or pinyin?
cavanami
Pinyin is used to help you to make the correct pronunciation of the Chinese characters (words). I learned Kanji (Japanses, my minor at the university) which covered many (some?) of the Chinese characters (hanzi). For me, the "bo, po, mo" was better for pronouncing Chinese.
