USVirgin
A girl from CM who worked at Bacarra once showed me the town, as well as nearby Lampang. I didn't do any P4P on that excursion so I know nothing about it.
unit731
Old but perhaps still useful: http://www.baronbonk.com/morethan.shtml I stayed at the Top North for one night and moved on. Rooms OK. But better up the street. If you do stay at the Top North do yourself a favor and dine someplace else. Enough said about the restaurant. Better location just up the street is the Montri Hotel. Montri Hotel is modest in price and on the main street/soi near gate. Montri Hotel has a good restaurant off lobby. Ask for a room overlooking the front or square. The view is good. But if noise is a problem with you then ask for a room in back with no view. As stated above there is nightlife. Just a little more scattered if you don't know your way around. I took the tour to see the Village People near Chaing Mai: Oops, wrong Village People. Here's the correct Village People: CORRECT LINK

greedisgood
3 Go-go's that I frequent often. Spotlight being the worse of the 3. Bars behind the "Peak" all but shut down now. Boxing Bars and Loi Kroi bars still going strong
Flashermac
Is Kampaeng Din - the old dirt wall - still there? I remember large hunks of it with little brothels next to it. The gals were often rather underage. That was back in the 1970s though, and CM is hardly even recognisable compared to those days. Too damned many Thais from Bangkok have moved up there and tried to turn CM into a mini-Bangkok.
