SurinBum
Is BKK due for another competing English-based newspapers to {perhaps} counter the Post & Nation? Not that it would be realistic, because in today's climate - such a start-up {even well-financed} would never be allowed to gain reputation or in time, would cave in to the angst and suppression that is convention...... Stickman
Yes, there is demand for a daily rag that covers issues of interest to farang. The Nation and The Bangkok Post are more like newspapers for educated Thais that happen to be published in English. The Internet in Thailand and expat-oriented websites have flourished and I think that is partly because the daily newspapers just don't provide what many readers are looking for. rchapstick
You must be kidding ... more competition in print media? Newspapers all over the world are dying on the vine due to competition form the internet. No sane person in their right mind would invest in a new print media venture. And the ever controversial http://www.asiasentinel.com always has a place. Thai-based forums can be informative. The overwhelming wealth that manifest from Thai-related blogs is a plus. Quite a number of well-regarded Thai political blogs {English/Thai} are available to browse. One source leads to ten more and so on. This blog index can be valuable - http://whatismatt.com/top100/ and also this Thai blog clearinghouse http://www.thailandvoice.com
