Man arrested following gun incident caught-on-camera.

 

Pattaya, August 18 [PATTAYA ONE NEWS] : In the early hours of Tuesday Morning, a 25 year old woman made a complaint at Pattaya Police Station regarding am incident which had just occurred in Soi Beokeow and resulted in the use of a firearm. The incident was caught on a security camera and clearly shows the female complainant driving past the suspect who was sitting and drinking. The pictures show that a verbal altercation between the pair took place which culminated in the suspect producing a gun and chasing the woman down the street as she drove off at speed. Police located the suspect; Khun Tanongsuk aged 41 but could not locate the firearm. He was taken to Pattaya Police Station for questioning and revealed that the woman drove past and used bad language towards him for no apparent reason and this angered him. He also denied use of the firearm even though it was clear from the camera images that a firearm was produced. The complainant suggested Khun Tanongsuk used bad language towards her for no apparent reason. With two different stories, Police decided that there was enough evidence to charge the male suspect with use of a weapon in a public place and he will appear in court later this week.

 

 

Motorbike Taxi Driver seriously injured following shooting in North Pattaya.

 

Pattaya, August 18 [PATTAYA ONE NEWS] : On Monday a motorbike taxi driver was rushed to Hospital following a shooting incident at the North End of Pattaya Third Road in front of a 7-Eleven Convenience Store. Khun Mahamadali aged 28 sustained a single gun shot wound to his chest and doctors determined the bullet had lodged in his right lung. He was quickly transferred to Chonburi Hospital for more specialized treatment. Before he left he explained to Police that he was waiting outside the store for his next customer. A group of youths were also outside the store and appeared apprehensive. Moments later a Bronze 4-door pick-up with a license plate registered in Rayong Province, pulled up in front of the store and the passenger in the vehicle produced a gun and opened fire a total of 5 times in the direction of the group while the motorbike taxi driver stood behind them. Everyone scattered and the only person to be injured was the taxi driver who appeared to be an innocent victim of the shooting. We understand he is now in ICU at Chonburi Hospital following an operation to remove the bullet from his lung. Police are investigating.

 

 

4 men hurt following jealous attack in East Pattaya.

 

Pattaya, August 18 [PATTAYA ONE NEWS] : Just after 10.30 on Monday Night, Police Lieutenant Jirasak from Banglamung Police Station made his way to Banglamung Hospital to deal with the aftermath of a fight which injured a total of 4 people and involved a current and former boyfriend of a woman who was caught in the middle of the scuffle. Two of the four men sustained serious injuries, Khun Somboon aged 33, the current boyfriend, sustained a serious knife wound to his arm and Khun Tanapat aged 26 was slashed in his face a number of times. According to Khun Noy, she was in the process of moving out of her former boyfriend’s apartment in Soi Lulpair in the East of Pattaya. She was assisted by her new boyfriend and his friend. The former boyfriend and his friend soon arrived and asked what was going on. This led to a fight between the four men who used any weapon they could find in the room. Police are now checking details of the case before they proceed further.

 

 

Two Municipal Security Officers hurt during drunken brawl.

Pattaya, August 18 [PATTAYA ONE NEWS] : On Monday, medical staff at Banglamung Hospital received two patients who had been injured in a knife attack which occurred in front of an apartment complex in Soi Gopai, South Pattaya. Both men work as Security Officers for Pattaya City Hall and stated that they had attacked each other following a night of drinking despite the fact they had been good friends for a long time. Khun Chertsit aged 25 sustained minor head injuries whereas his so-called friend Khun Wachatana aged 35 sustained more serious injuries, namely stab wounds to his chest and arms. Despite the fight both men appeared relaxed as they comforted each other in Hospital. Khun Chertsit claimed they were not fighting for real and were only joking around. The altercation allegedly began when Khun Wachatana smashed a bottle over his friends’ head which then led to the knife attack. Police are investigating, however if both sides decide not to pursue the case any further it will be recorded and archived for future reference.

No Farangs involved this time....I usually feel pretty safe in 99% of Pattaya,however,there is always that random element involved,ie.being in the wrong place at the wrong time and catching a stray bullet from a shoot out or " drive by ".Also,is Sin City more violent than other Thai towns of a similar size...?
