jack_schist
Is Teerak a word exclusively used in the domain of bargirls or do run of the mill BKK use it when adressing their other half in private? eg should I be alarmed if I had a GF that never had much to do with farangs who suddenly blurted out "Teerak"
acockasian
I've heard it a lot by girls at the soapy massage places do I don't think it is just a bar girl thing.
CTO
Wife and others hate the term but it's not a bar girl only term.
sanyar
Why not talk to some decent women for a change and find out for yourself.
Flashermac
A friend called his Mrs "teerak" once in my presence. She straightened him up in a big hurry about using it with her. (She's a secondary school teacher.) Another friend and his wife use it for each other all the time. But she is a former BG.
jack_schist
i had an feeling that was the case. One BKK female friend refers to farang/teerak reltionships when talking about chappies who are coinhabiting with ladies of soiled virtue. But twice now i have been called this by rather educated and modest woman. One who has in the past used the term "sex Tourists" when descibing farangs in sukhumvit. Maybe its a test. preahko
It is far from a bargirl (or soapy girl)-only term. I just did a search on Google for "à ¸—à ¸µà ¹ˆà ¸£à ¸±à ¸Â" (with the quotes, to limit it just to the combination of the two terms); I got 31,500,000 hits... cardinalblue
Could it be a derogatory, condescending or unpolite term in the Thai language? I shall ask my Thai language teacher who is also teaches at a major university... Masybe it is like "broad" or worse in our language... CB
