I dont meet such workers since I am downstream and more of an "Ivory Towers" type of guy rather than a hands on, I got my hands dirty 25 years ago. Gotta agree with Ryder on his point about nepatism within the industry and not just in Thailand, on this project now its getting to the stage where an expat applying for a position has to have a positive referance from at least three other members of PMC who have personally worked with them in the past, in the bar of an evening here now its like a reunion from the past 25 years. When I participated in your companies survey 2-3 months ago I made a prediction which is now coming to fruition,rates are going up ... Khaz is now offering GBP 750 / day for 12 hours 28/28, Shell have just gone back in. Gorgon Project is starting to man up also so COMPANY here are revising payscale to keep key players onboard, the pendulum is now swinging back into my favour.
