expat
Today a group of them was walking along and one kept trying to get the girls in front of the bars to pose with him. I was behind him so I said "why don't you just give her some money, then she'll pose with you?" This seemed an alien concept to him. Incidentally, I have found the military guys to be quite polite on the whole. I was in a bar and 4 came in, but only one ordered a drink. The wait staff seemed annoyed, but I don't think the boys realized that what they were doing was wrong (they were pretty drunk). Who knows.
