"Protesters force some 100 troops to retreat into Lumpini Park

A group of protesters forced some 100 troops at the Lang Suan Intersection to retreat into the Lumpini Park Tuesday afternoon.

Then a group of motorcyclists locked all the park's gates to prevent the troops from coming out.

Several park visitors became angry as they could not leave or enter the park.

So it's down to playing silly games like the cat after the mouse or the silly beats the more silly?

Perhaps it's time to arm the M-boys & put an end to this annoying freak show at the public's expensive!

May the best man win & the last farm boy throw out the garbage before leaving from morchit...

Seems like the Reds are determined to provoke violence. I wonder whose idea that is. The Thai language papers last year reported that the T-man is suffering from prostate cancer and was being treated in Dubai, though his sister denied it. Lastest rumour is that he is in bad shape and probably won't last more than another 6 months. If true, it would explain the refusal to accept an election 9 months from now. :dunno:

Google for Thaksin and cancer and a lot comes up.

sure they wont accept to wait another 9 months just as much as PM wont go easily like 3-6 months from now...

so the real question IMO is how to 'end' the demonstration with neither side loosing too much face?

easy for PM he just need them to go home (disperse the crowds), but for the reds with poor management/plans it's probably too late now to do much else then the full monty & thus sure loss of face (nothing to loose nothing to gain dilemma)

Woman rescued by police after trying to slam car at protesters

A woman was rescued by police after angry protesters surrounded her car when she tried to slam her Toyota Vios at red-shirt people in front of the Bangkok Bank on Silom Road at 2:20 pm Tuesday.

She was driving towards the group of demonstrators on the road, prompting them to rush to surround her car.

Police rushed in to help and keep the protesters away from the car and the woman sped away.

Seems as if Bangkokians are getting restless

not sure article was since updated or not, but now at least it says "Vigo pick-up truck" (Toyota) thus miles away from the Porche incident the other day...

I think the reds no longer wish to be peaceful (patient & clever) they just want to go home if only the boss would allow them... :hmmm:
