After an extended absence dealing with "life" here in the 'Rotten Mango', I think it's time I come back and see what's to be seen and make sure you guys have been staying out of trouble while I was away.

Last spoke to him about a year or so ago. He was teaching English at the time, still living in BKK with his gf. Seemed to be doing well.

I loved my old neighbourhood. There was everything you could want within walking distance, plus easy trasportation around the city. But the landlady and her nieces went to war over who owned what, with the gals periodically shutting off our power and finally our water. Almost everyone has moved out of the compound.

 

I do miss being able to hear all the loud speakers and occasionally see what was going on from my balcony. I also had a great view of the annual fireworks at Sanam Luang. Oh, well. As the Buddha said, nothing is permanent.
