Of course not with bare hands. They have machine guns, grenades and improvised bombs in their arsenal. The military on the other hand seems to have a wide array of of weapons they're unwilling to use (from teargas and water cannon up to all the above and more), and a strategy of backing down and running away. From what I've seen of performance by Thai military/police to this point, it seems as if they have alreaady decided to not be effective, but rather to go through the motion of appearing to attempt something but with the inevitable result of failure. Someone mentioned how handling this would be so easy if it was done as in the west -- not exactly correct: it'd be easy if done like anywhere else in the world. Myanmar for exmample. Iran. Korea.
