The original Thermae was diagonally across the street from the new one. It was a small coffee shop under the Thermae Massage Parlour. It seemed totally innocent ... until about 7pm, when the freelancers started arriving.

Diagonally across the street from where it is now would put it on the opposite side of Sukumvit....? (even soi side)...that can't be right. I must be missing something.

"The entrance was on Suk but most people went through the parking lot behind the Miami. "

Thats right, its all coming back to me. I recall that on one of my first visits I was wearing a Singha t-shirt and some guy in the parking lot tried to start a fight with me for being such a yahoo. Tough place, I thought at the time.

That parking lot could be intimidating. It wasn't well lit and there were always a few scraps going on (Thai on Thai usually). Lots of broken glass and vomit to negotiate.

But if you tried to get through the front door you had to push through the crowd by the juke box.
